Assembly Hall Theatre

Eating Out & Accommodation

We’d love you to spend as long as possible with us. But if you’re looking for a more formal meal before your show, the following restaurants are close-by and offer pre-theatre dining and special deals for theatre goers.

Côte Brasserie

The inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, they are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices. On the menu, guests will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu such as Steak Frites, Moules Marinieres, Corn-fed Chicken from rural Brittany and Tuna Nicoise, for dessert, Cote's Crème Caramel and Creme Brulee are much-loved house specialities. Seasonality and Cote's commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients results in a monthly changing specials menu, ensuring there is always something new to delight regular guests and gastronomes alike, as well as the excellent value set menu.

Open early every day for breakfast, through to lunch and dinner,  Cote's atmosphere is informal and friendly.

You can enjoy a great value set menu from £11.50 that is available Monday to Friday until 7pm and on the Theatre nights take advantage of a complimentary glass of Kir Royal redeemable presenting your theatre tickets from Royal Assembly Hall Theatre.

Hotel du Vin

The elegant yet informal setting of the classic French-styled Bistro du Vin is the heart of this stylish Tunbridge Wells hotel, just opposite the theatre. The menu features fresh, seasonal produce and you’ll enjoy moderately priced à la carte dining in a down-to-earth, warm and relaxing environment.

Sharing is good for the soul. Join Hotel du Vin for their succulent Chateaubriand paired with a delicious bottle of Château Bauduc, served with pommes frites, a choice of side and two sauces all for £65: https://www.hotelduvin.com/offers/food-drink/chateaubriand-wine/

There will also be 2 Peter Pan inspired cocktails available for the duration of the Panto season, at £5 on the day for ticket holders (£9 normal price)!

Vittle and Swig

Blending industrial style and enchanting idiosyncrasy, this is an unforgettable destination. Expect chic leather booths, top hat pendant lights and a wealth of quirky urban artworks by local artists. Vittle and Swig achieves the perfect balance of bar and restaurant, and is equally well suited to a sophisticated dinner mid-week, Friday night cocktails, or a lazy Sunday brunch.

Add even more magic and sparkle to your theatre experience and enjoy post-show cocktails until midnight Monday to Thursday and 1.00am Fridays and Saturdays at this award winning restaurant.
