UK Productions and the Assembly Hall Theatre proudly presents SLEEPING BEAUTY, a pantomime extravaganza for the whole family, from Saturday 10 December to Monday 2 January.

Television legend GLYNIS BARBER (EastEnders, Dempsey & Makepeace) will be stepping into the role of the Bad Fairy. Joining Glynis as Silly Billy will be Channel 5 Children’s Milkshake! presenter DEREK MORAN, and as the king, the wonderful CHRISTOPHER BEENY who is best known for his performances as Edward Barnes in the much loved TV series Upstairs, Downstairs and as Morton Beamish alias Herman Teasdale in the long running series Last of the Summer Wine.

Panto veteran CHARLES BURDEN will play the loveable Nanny Glucose and the beautiful SOPHIA THIERENS will add a touch of glamour to the show in the role of Princess Beauty.

Flying sequences and amazing CGI special effects help to bring the wonderful story of Sleeping Beauty to life. Flying dragons, space flight and forests of thorns that grow before your very eyes are just some of the effects guaranteed to delight you.

As  well as stunning staging and sets, SLEEPING BEAUTY promises more jokes and join-in fun than ever before. Cast

Television legend GLYNIS BARBER will be stepping into the role of the Bad Fairy in this year’s family pantomime SLEEPING BEAUTY.  One of the UK’s best loved actresses, GLYNIS BARBER is best known for her portrayal as Sgt. Harriet Makepeace in the British police drama Dempsey & Makepeace and more recently, as Roxie and Ronnie Mitchell's mum Glenda Mitchell in BBC 1’s Eastenders. She has also recently appeared as Jean in the latest series of The Royal. Glynis’ TV and film credits include Trial & Retribution, New Tricks, Déjà Vu with Vanessa Redgrave and The Wicked Lady with Faye Dunaway.

Joining Glynis as Silly Billy will be Channel 5 Children’s Milkshake! presenter DEREK MORAN. Derek began his career at an early age when he was signed by Warner Brothers Music as part of the band D-Side. With D-Side Derek enjoyed incredible success with three Top 10 singles in the UK and four Top 5 hits in Ireland. D-side have recently completed an extensive tour throughout Europe and Japan where the release of their third album saw D-Side reach number 1 in the Japanese charts.  He has performed on many TV shows including Top of the Pops, The Saturday Show, Ministry Of Mayhem, MTV, The Late Late Show and Ireland AM.

There is nothing like a king and there is no other king quite like the wonderful CHRISTOPHER BEENY who is best known for his performances as Edward Barnes in the much loved TV series Upstairs, Downstairs and  as Billy Henshaw, Thora Hird’s co-star in In Loving Memory. Since 2001, he has appeared as Morton Beamish alias Herman Teasdale in the long running series Last of the Summer Wine.
